Swedish shipping company Stena Line today announces the opening of the new Nynäshamn-Hanko route, expanding its route network to the Finnish market. The new route underlines Stena Line’s ambition of an even stronger presence in the Baltic Sea region. From February 2022, the route will initially be served by one ferry, from two ferries scheduled to operate to daily departures from May 2022. The port of departure in Nynäshamn is Stockholm Norvik.
“With our new daily route between Hanko and Nynäshamn, we are expanding our route network and strengthening our position in the Baltic Sea region. We grow together with our customers and invest in our service to meet the increasing demand of our freight customers to smooth transports in the Baltic Sea region and beyond. The RoPax ferries, Urd and Stena Gothica, which carry mostly cargo and a maximum of 186 passengers, each have a capacity of 1,600 lane meters. They represent Stena Line’s next investment step in the Baltic Sea region, which includes the commissioning of the two newly built E-Flexers to the Nynäshamn-Ventspils route, as well as the capacity expansion on to Karlskrona-Gdynia route with the recently extended ferries Stena Scandica and Stena Baltica.
