Puttgarden is located in the north of the island of Fehmarn. The place is known for its busy ferry terminal. There, four floors of the floating “Bordershop” offer pure shopping pleasure. The Grüner Brink nature reserve offers rare water birds a protected habitat. A dike hike leads to the Niobe monument. It is reminiscent of the sailing ship of the same name that capsized here in 1932 in front of a school class and sank within a very short time.
