Life in Cuxhaven has always been shaped by water and the Wadden Sea. This is also reflected in the sights of the city. The “Kugelbake” once served as an important sea mark, the museum Windstärke 10 tells of the rough life of the fishermen and from the Hapag Halls the ships set sail for America. A stroll through the town takes you to the former Alte Liebe pier, the Dicke Berta lighthouse and the Döse spa gardens. Ritzebüttel Castle and the varied offer of the city centre round off a stay in Cuxhaven.
