The entire town of Favignana can be seen from the 314 metre high peak of Monte Santa Cateriana. The Ferries to and from Sicily depart from the port. Favignana has a winding old town with narrow streets. Just a few metres from the port is Piazza Matrice with its pretty baroque church. Here residents and guests meet in the cafés and restaurants. Also worth seeing are the Palazzo Florio, the former (and very notorious) state prison in the Castello San Giocomo and the ruins of the fort of Santa Caterina.
