For centuries, Sweden’s second largest city was securely guarded by Nya Elfsborg, a fortress well worth seeing. Gothenburg offers its guests a wide range of activities. The many canals, bridges and harbour are waiting to be discovered. A beautiful place is the castle forest. In the past, only the king and his hunting party were allowed to enter it, but today it is the city’s most popular park, with Sweden’s oldest zoo to delight young and old alike. However, if you want to feel a little more heart-pounding, Scandinavia’s largest theme park, Liseberg, is the place to be.
