La Palma is the most wooded of the Canary Islands and therefore rightly bears the beautiful nickname Isla Verde. Its appearance is characterized by the volcano Teneguía and the volcanic chain Cumbre Vieja, which is up to 2,000 meters high. Nature lovers can expect the highest mountain on the island, a volcanic crater with a diameter of nine kilometres, springs, waterfalls and the “Canyon of Fears” in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park. The capital Santa Cruz de la Palma invites with its narrow streets to stroll over cobblestones. The beautiful houses with their picturesque wooden balconies are worth seeing.
