In the south of Spain, on a headland, lies the British overseas territory of Gibraltar. Visible from afar, it is overlooked by the 426-metre-high Rock of Gibraltar. The cable car takes you up to the top, the view is unique: two seas, three countries and two continents – monkeys included! In Gibraltar’s fortress complex, the remains of a Moorish castle and walk-through tunnels from the 18th century can be discovered. At Europa Point, Africa is already within reach, a lighthouse and a small restaurant invite you to enjoy the view across to Morocco on clear days.
