TOP excursion destinations in Denmark

Denmark's capital Copenhagen offers its visitors a beautiful old town, fantastic royal palaces and of course the Little Mermaid. It's lively and colorful in the Nyhavn too, the amusement park Tivoli is considered one of the most popular attractions in Denmark.

In Aarhus past and present are only a few minutes' walk away from each other. The old town offers its visitors a cathedral, a historic city theater and many colorful houses. Modern Aarhus, on the other hand, knows how to inspire with its harbor, houses reminiscent of icebergs and a “rainbow panorama” in the ARoS art museum.

Not far from downtown Aarhus, visitors will find this Marselisborg Castle. It is used by the Danish queen as a summer residence. If she is present, the changing of the guard takes place every day at twelve o'clock. If you are not there, the park and rose garden are open to the public.

Denmark's northernmost holiday resort Skagen inspires with three fascinating features. The light there is almost magical. On a headland, visitors can stand with one leg in the Baltic Sea and the other in the North Sea. And of the silted up church, only the church tower protrudes from the sand.

Sand as far as the eye can see! Of the Rubjerg Knude Fyr is probably one of the most famous lighthouses in the world. In 2019, it moved inland with a height of 23 meters and a weight of 700 tons. So he could be saved from falling into the sea.

Lovers of castles will find the picturesque Egeskov moated castle enchant. The renaissance castle is located in the middle of a lake and inspires with moats, garden art and labyrinths.

Children's dreams come true in Billund. Here in Legoland Denmark an unbelievable 65.000.000 Lego bricks were used. Over 50 attractions ensure unforgettable vacation experiences.

Off Jutland's west coast lies the Wadden Sea National Park. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest connected tidal systems in the world. Thousands of animal and plant species find a home here and can be discovered on mudflat walks.
