Holiday in Ibiza
The third largest of the Balearic Islands still lives up to its reputation as a party island. Besides, it offers endless beaches, crystal clear water and a nature of unique beauty. If you like shopping, you will find it in Ibiza Town and in the famous hippy market. After picturesque sunsets, the clubs invite you to dance the night away.
TOP excursion destinations in Ibiza
Ibiza Town has a picturesque harbour and a historic old town, “Dalt Villa”, which will delight you with its small streets, imposing cathedral and mighty fortress. A stroll will take you to small craft shops, excavation sites and museums.
High above the old town the cathedral Santa Maria de la Nieves is visible from far away. Once built in the Gothic style, it was given a Baroque polish during its renovation in the 18th century. From up here you have a wonderful panoramic view over the old town, the fortress and the harbour.
Those interested in culture can experience a touch of antiquity during a visit to the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta. The oldest ruins date back to the 7th century BC and tell of the daily life of the former inhabitants.
Every Saturday, the popular hippie market Las Dalias takes place in San Carlos and attracts numerous guests with its bright colours, music and exuberant atmosphere. Clothing, jewellery and handicrafts are on offer until late into the night.
In the 18th century the Torre d’es Savinar was built to protect the island from pirate attacks. Today visitors enjoy a fantastic view from here over the whole coast and over to the rock island
Es Vedrà.
The small rocky island of Es Vedrà offers a fascinating sight. The 382-metre-high rock off the coast is close enough to touch. Legends tell of strange lights and mysterious apparitions, making the rock a truly mysterious place.
In former times the stalactite cave Cova de Can Marca was a popular hiding place for smuggled goods. Today, visitors enjoy fascinating stalactite formations, underground lakes and a waterfall.
The diverse landscape of the Ses Salines nature reserve extends all the way to the neighbouring island of Formentera. Centuries-old cedar forests, swamps and dreamlike beaches offer a protected habitat to a species-rich animal and plant world.
