Holiday in London
The metropolis on the Thames unites past and present in a fascinating way. Here, the view from the London Eye on clear days reaches over to the Tower and the Tower Bridge. A wide range of cultural activities and numerous shopping opportunities make a visit to the English capital an unforgettable experience.
TOP excursion destinations in London
The Tower, Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace invite you on a journey into the history of the city. The sight of the House of Parliament with the famous bell tower Big Ben is incomparable. During a city tour, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey should not be missed.
You can experience modern London on a ride on the 135-metre high London Eye Ferris wheel or on the observation deck of the skyscraper The Shard. Both are among the youngest sights and meanwhile it is hard to imagine the London skyline without them.
The centrally located squares Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square offer a lot of hustle and bustle at any hour, while Camden Market is a creative district. The venerable department store Harrods is a wonderful place to shop.
What else you shouldn’t miss? The waxworks at Madame Tussauds, a stroll through Hyde Park, fascinating cultural history at the British Museum and a history lesson of a special kind at the London Dungeon.
Entry requirements
To enter the UK, German nationals and EU citizens need an identity card or passport. All documents must be valid at least until departure.
Alternative travel options
A direct flight is probably the fastest connection from most European countries, and London has a total of five airports. By train, you can get there via Eurostar, and by long-distance bus, London is easily accessible from all major cities. Those arriving by car can use the trains of the Eurotunnel as an alternative to the Fähre.
