The shipping company Irish Ferries is based in Dublin and connects Ireland, Wales and France to three ferry routes. In 1974 Irish Shipping Limited, Fearnley & Eger and Lion Ferry A/B joined forces and laid the foundations for a successful company. Today the fleet consists of five ships. The “Ulysses” – is one of the largest car ferries in the world in to of vehicle capacity and can accommodate up to 1,342 cars.

Irish Ferries operates four ferry services. The route from Dublin to Holyhead (Wales) takes 3 hours 15 mins and there are up to 4 crossings per day. The RosslarePembroke (Wales) route takes 4 hours and operates twice daily. At 19 hours, the crossing from Dublin to Cherbourg (France) is the longest, and the passage takes place four times a week. The ferry connection from Calais to Dover is also new to the offer.
