The ferry service between Puttgarden and Rödby connects the German Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn with the Danish island of Lolland. It is currently operated only by the Scandlines shipping company. For the 18.5 kilometer route across the Fehmarnbelt, the ferry takes about 45 minutes. The route is operated around the clock all year round, and depending on the season, up to 47 crossings take place daily at 30-minute intervals.
Start from Puttgarden ferry port
The port in Puttgarden is mainly used by ferries and is operated as a private port by Scandlines Deutschland GmbH. It offers moorings for four ferries. A wooden bridge connects the terminal building with the BorderShop, one of the largest floating border stores in the world. By car, the route from the A1 to the ferry port is via Bundesstraße 207. The train goes directly to ferry, so as a traveler you can comfortably stay seated without having to get off or change trains. All outgoing ferries are designed to transport passengers and their vehicles.
